The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) welcomed a new president at its annual Aesthetic Meeting this month in Las Vegas. The newly elected Daniel C. Mills, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon, operates a private practice in Laguna Beach, California. The Aesthetic Society, a professional organization devoted to aesthetic plastic surgery and cosmetic medicine, includes more than 2,600 board-certified plastic surgeons.

Mills currently serves as the medical director at Laguna Beach Rejuvenation and Wellness. He also teaches residents at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine’s plastic surgery department. An active member of California Society of Plastic Surgeons, ASAPS, American College of Surgeons and The American Association of Plastic Surgery, Mills also previously served as president of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons from June 2007 to June 2008. He is the current technical editor of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, the clinically peer-reviewed journal of ASAPS, and publishes frequently in the aesthetic and reconstructive field.

“It is an honor to assume the role of president of The Aesthetic Society,” Mills says in a media release from ASAPS. “We are truly a unique organization, consisting of top-tier, board-certified aesthetic plastic surgeons. I welcome the opportunity to work with our Board of Directors and specialized committees to advance our public and physician education enterprises as well as our patient safety initiatives.”

“In an effort to further distinguish ASAPS members from other organizations, we will continue to generate expanded awareness of our particular brand of refined expertise (specifically in aesthetic plastic surgery), enhance member benefits and distinctions, promote patient safety and better patient outcomes, and provide the best educational opportunities for our members,” he adds.
