The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) introduce BeautyforLife.com, an interactive Web site where patients can receive a customized aesthetic medicine beauty plan.

"As patients’ options increase, so too does their confusion about which ones can best meet their needs,” says Richard D’Amico, MD, ASPS president and co-chair of the task force. “One patient might inquire about a tummy tuck when liposuction would do, while another might think injectable fillers will provide the results that only a facelift can achieve.”

BeautyforLife.com invites patients to take a confidential, interactive quiz to match information about their age, appearance, beauty regimen, lifestyle, and body image with facts and images that show them how they can look their best throughout a lifetime. The resulting plan, created especially for each user, offers advice on lifestyle changes and aesthetic medical procedures that can help them achieve their personal goals. Visitors who complete the quiz may also sign up to receive emails with the latest news about the aesthetic procedures that interest them most.

BeautyforLife.com features four categories: noninvasive, minimally invasive, moderately invasive, and surgical. It also includes a guide to the aesthetic issues that commonly concern patients in each decade of life and the aesthetic medical procedures—from noninvasive to surgical—to address them.

“Plastic surgeons who are members of ASAPS and ASPS have a comprehensive medical knowledge of the entire body and how aging and environmental factors affect every part,” says Renato Saltz, MD, ASAPS president-elect and task force co-chair. “They are uniquely qualified to help their patients choose the most effective solutions to meet their needs—whether it’s skin resurfacing, liposuction, or a combination of several cosmetic procedures.”
