Herluf G. Lund, Jr, MD, FACS, from St Louis Cosmetic Surgery has accepted the role of secretary for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).

Lund is a past president of the Missouri Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and served as treasurer and secretary for the St Louis Metropolitan Medical Society.

“I value the opportunity to serve in this leadership role with an organization such as ASAPS,” Lund says in a media release from St Louis Cosmetic Surgery. “The society represents more than 2,600 top-tier, board-certified plastic surgeons and is dedicated to advancing the goals of patient and physician education and patient safety.”

In his new role, Lund will play a role on the board’s executive committee and be an advisor to the ASAPS president. His responsibilities include recording the activities of the board and ASAPS society.

“I’m looking forward to fulfilling my duties as ASAPS secretary and working with other members of the executive committee,” Lund continues. “One of the goals is to help craft initiatives to expand public awareness of our organization and the benefits of choosing a plastic surgeon who is a member of ASAPS.”
