Allergan Inc (Irvine, Calif) today announced it has received approval from the FDA for Juvederm XC, which is a new variation on the company's Juverderm dermal filler that contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic that eases the pain of injection around the mouth and nose.

According to the company, Juvederm XC provides the same results as the formerly approved product, but the injection experience is less painful.
