Elizabeth Logan, the president and CEO of Myotonology Inc, has more than 25 years of experience in sales and marketing in the aesthetics industry. She has been a world-renowned aesthetician, spa owner, and aesthetics consultant. We spoke with her about the Myotonology® facial-rejuvenation system and how it can benefit aesthetics practices.

What exactly is Myotonology?

The Myotonology process is the only US-patented microcurrent facial-toning system available for the medical aesthetics market. We have developed a step-by-step procedure that systematically reduces the signs of aging. It is completely noninvasive and can be combined with numerous other cosmetic procedures to provide the aesthetics industry with the most versatile and effective facial-rejuvenation programs available.

How does Myotonology work?

Microcurrent systems have been used for more than 30 years to treat Bell’s palsy and restore muscle tonus. Myotonology Inc has perfected the use of faradic microcurrent technology for aesthetic use and facial rejuvenation.

Myotonology maintains or increases muscle tone in three ways: circulation, microcontraction, and cerebral effect. During a session, we isolate approximately 30 muscles of the face and stimulate the muscle fibers with low-microcurrent impulses to restore proper tone to the facial muscles.

Myotonology treatments make the face look healthier, younger, more toned, and refreshed by increasing skin circulation and metabolism, improving skin tone, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and increasing skin hydration and nourishment.

Myotonology’s patented procedure is based on a series of sessions that have a cumulative effect. The number of sessions is specific to each patient; and once the series is complete, a monthly “booster” session is required to maintain the results.

How effective is Myotonology?

Myotonology is extremely effective for giving patients a natural, healthy-looking, and more youthful facial appearance. It is a clinically proven, physician- and aesthetician-endorsed, facial-rejuvenation system. We have posted the results of our clinical case study, including protocol, before-and-after photos, and full medical observations, at www.myoinc.com/proreport.htm.

Is Myotonology easy to incorporate into existing practices?

Most definitely. Our facial-rejuvenation system actually complements several cosmetic procedures that are currently in high demand, enabling aestheticians to customize an ideal program for each patient. Myotonology is virtually the only nonsurgical, noninvasive procedure that can drastically reduce the signs of aging around the eyes; and it is often combined with botulinum toxin Type A, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, photo facials, intense pulsed light therapy, dermal fillers, ultrasound therapy, and many others. Myotonology can also be used presurgery and postsurgery to help lessen edema and swelling.

Another advantage to Myotonology is that no healing time is required. Sessions are only about 45 minutes long, so patients can even come in during lunch hour. Patients look forward to this safe, relaxing, and effective treatment, and continue to come in for their monthly “booster” session, allowing the aesthetician to build strong, lasting client relationships.
