Merz Pharma Group Acquires Neocutis S.A.

In a power play that strengthens its position in the US aesthetic market, Merz Pharma Group has acquired Swiss dermatology company Neocutis S.A. cosmetics, OTC, and Rx skin care business.

The acquisition, which closed on July 22, 2013, will be managed by Merz Pharma Group’s U.S. affiliate, Merz North America Inc. This group will also integrate marketing of Neocutis’ line of physician-dispensed topical skin care products in the US. Such products include NEOCUTIS Bio-restorative Skin Cream, PSP® – High Protein Skin Care, LUMIÈRE Bio-restorative Eye Cream, Journée. BioGel, BioSerum, Neocleans, Hyalis and Prevedem.

Merz North America plans to leverage Neocutis’ existing preferred customer programs with the Merz Aesthetics™ product line.
