A new, more supple form of the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation’s acellular dermal matrix (ADM)—FlexHD® Pliable™—may provide better results for post-mastectomy breast reconstruction patients.

The use of ADM grafts in breast-reconstruction procedures is becoming increasingly widespread. The grafts help form a more natural-looking breast and provide a more aesthetically pleasing outcome. The new ADM is sutured into the chest wall and the bisected pectoralis muscle, forming an internal “hammock” to support the breast implant.

Through a small processing change, FlexHD Pliable is made more elastic than FlexHD so it stretches to accommodate the implant.
