The reality television show Botched, which debuted on the E! Network in 2014 and was recently renewed for its fifth season, follows the practices of board-certified physicians Paul Nassif and Terri Dubrow as they consult with and treat patients seeking revision of often disfiguring plastic surgery.

Because Botched emphasizes complications and bad outcomes, it is a welcome late addition to the trend of plastic surgery reality television that dates back to 2002 with the debut of Extreme Makeover.
