Sarah W. Holland, MD, a plastic surgeon at York Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Center, York, will travel to Guatemala City, Guatemala, this month where she will provide volunteer reconstructive surgery for poor children with facial defects.

Holland will travel with a team of surgeons and nurses as part of Children of the Americas, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing necessary medical and surgical services to indigent children and their families throughout the world.

As part of her trip, Holland is collecting eyeglasses that will go to "Eyeglass Afternoon." This event provides Guatemalan mothers, who earn their living sewing and weaving, with the glasses for their fine handiwork. Glasses can be brought to York Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Center. For doing so, donors will receive a 10% discount on aesthetic service packages.

Holland is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is fellowship trained in craniofacial surgery. She is the founder of York Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Center.
