I’d just had a few rounds of Fraxel laser (excruciating!) followed by a few more rounds of microneedling (painful, but not as bad). Both of these popular acne scar treatments helped with my smaller, more shallow scars, but left me feeling disappointed when it came to my deeper, rolling scars.

Which is why Bellafill seemed like an almost too-good-to-be-true, more permanent solution for my scarring. It works, similar to other dermal fillers, by injecting a substance into an acne scar depression with a small needle to fill the space.
