Trends in dermatology research funding from 2015 to 2019 were described in study data published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.
During the study period, the National Institute of Health (NIH) awarded more than $550 million to dermatology-related projects. The majority of funding was awarded to men, suggesting that the gender gap within scientific research also pervades dermatology.
