The recently founded North American Society for Hair Restoration (NASHR) aims to ensure that members receive the proper training on hair restoration procedures, and that they provide the best patient experience possible.

Its founding members include Stephen Ronan, MD, FACS; Stephen Mulholland, MD, FRCS; Grant Stevens, MD, FACS; and Richard Chaffoo, MD, FACS, FICS.

“Membership is offered to those whose core specialties are in plastic surgery, facial plastic surgery, and dermatology,” Ronan says in a media release from NASHR.

“These core specialties have the proper training for hair transplant surgery. Over the years, it has concerned me that physicians without formal training in the aesthetic industry and without formal training in hair restoration have been performing these procedures. This often results in less-than-desirable results for the patients suffering from hair loss. NASHR will educate the public regarding the importance of physician training in the core aesthetic fields,” Ronan adds.

NASHR’s next meeting will be at the Las Vegas Cosmetic Surgery Conference, June 11 at the Lago inside the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.
