Bill Johnson, MD, MMM, of Innovations MedSpa, located in Dallas, demonstrates SmartXide Dot Therapy on the face.

The SmartXide DOT system is a CO2 laser made in Italy by DEKA. It has received clearance from the FDA and is being distributed in the US by Eclipse Medical, of Vacaville, Calif.
The SmartXide Dot CO2 technology uses dot-patterned CO2 laser to resurface the skin without the long downtime previous CO2 lasers had. It can be done as a one-time procedure (2-3 days of downtime) or as a four-time procedure (no downtime), according to Eclipse Medical.

Johnson, who is board-certified in internal medicine, is the first to offer SmartXide Dot CO2 in the US outside of FDA trials.
