shutterstock_37245157The Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF) is now accepting applications for two 2015 Breast Reconstruction Awareness Fund grant programs. The deadline for entrants is Friday, April 10, 2015.

Through the fund, the foundation will award grants to nonprofit organizations that provide charitable surgical care to breast reconstruction patients and increase breast reconstruction awareness and education. This is the third year the PSF will award funding through its two grant programs.

The Breast Reconstruction Surgery Charitable Care Grants will award up to $15,000 to US-based, tax-exempt, public 501(c)(3) charities that provide breast-reconstruction-surgery charity care.

Breast Reconstruction Surgery Public Awareness Grants will award up to $10,000 to US-based, tax-exempt, public 501(c)(3) charities that seek to increase the awareness of breast reconstruction surgery.

Special consideration will be given to organizations that have previously hosted or plan to host Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day USA events in 2015.

In 2014, 16 philanthropic organizations were awarded funding of more than $200,000 from the charitable care and public awareness grant categories. The Breast Reconstruction Awareness Fund has raised more than $931,000 since its inception and supports research, projects, programs, and the charitable surgical care of women in need of postmastectomy breast reconstruction.
