The Contour Applicator, which is ergonomically designed to fit in the user’s hand, facilitates spot treatments in hard-to-reach areas and may be used for cellulite treatments on the thighs, buttocks, and abdomen. VelaSmooth is a noninvasive device based on Syneron’s elos technology—a combination of bipolar radiofrequency (RF) and light energy—and is designed to improve skin texture and reduce localized fat deposits. The VelaSmooth system provides simultaneous application of light energy to the tissue at a controlled IR wavelength and conducted RF energy. The applicator enhances the effects of cellulite reduction on the chin, neck, arms, bra line, knees, and backs of the calves.

Thermage

Thermage introduces Hands by Thermage™, a noninvasive treatment in the suite of Body by Thermage™ procedures, for treating patients who want younger-looking hands without surgery or downtime. The company also introduces its 1.5-cm2 ST ThermaTip™ for use in treating hands. Hands by Thermage may be used on patients who have thinning skin on their hands or those who want to diminish the appearance of veins and gain more radiant skin texture. ThermaTip features a shallow heating profile, which focuses the radiofrequency energy in the dermal layer of the skin for a smoothing and tightening result. Hands by Thermage delivers uniform volumetric heating to tighten existing collagen and stimulate collagen growth. Patients benefit from a single treatment. Results are subtle and improve over time as new collagen forms.
