Plastic surgeons, meet PICO.

The FDA recently gave its nod to this pocket-sized negative pressure wound therapy device. PICO is now cleared for use both in a hospital and homecare setting for patients undergoing plastic surgery. The single-use, one-button pump is portable and discreet and can be used for up to one week.

"PICO is novel and beneficial in several regards," said Raymond Dunn, MD, Chairman of Plastic Surgery at the University of Massachusetts, in a press release. "The seven day duration should allow us to more rapidly transition care for patients with post-operative wounds and skin grafts to the outpatient setting."

PICO was developed by Smith & Nephew, and is already been launched in Europe, Canada and Australia. Learn more about Pico, by visiting http://www.possiblewithpico.com/
